Colorado
Battleship USS Colorado (BB-45) in April 1944 after refit. Public domain.

USS Colorado (BB-45) was a battleship of the United States Navy and the name ship of the Colorado class.

Captain Walter Scott MacAulay commanded her from 23 August 1944 until he was relieved on 2 September 1945. His time in command ran a little more than a year and covered the spring of 1945.

On 1 April 1945, with MacAulay still in command, Colorado was off Okinawa in the gunfire force. That duty is the action given for her. She came through the day afloat. For 1 April 1945 the result is that she was not sunk. Colorado survived the war. The hull was not lost, and her fate is survival.
