FateAfloat. This is CV-16, not CV-2. Renamed Lexington on 16 June 1942 after CV-2 was lost. Mitscher's flagship from 8 March 1944, including the Philippine Sea. Not sunk. Decommissioned 23 April 1947, recommissioned 15 August 1955, and decommissioned 8 November 1991. Museum at Corpus Christi from 15 June 1992.
