USS Mississippi (BB-41) was a New Mexico-class battleship of the United States Navy. Newport News built her. She was launched on 25 January 1917 and commissioned on 18 December 1917.

Captain Penn Leary Carroll commanded her from 29 November 1941 until 20 December 1941, when Captain Walden Lee Ainsworth relieved him. Ainsworth remained until 27 June 1942. Captain Calvin Hayes Cobb then took command and held it until 16 November 1942.

Captain Lunsford Lomax Hunter commanded from 16 November 1942 until 26 April 1944. On that day Captain Heman Judd Redfield, Jr., relieved him. Under Redfield, on the night of 24-25 October 1944, Mississippi was in Oldendorf's battle line at the Battle of Surigao Strait.

Redfield was relieved on 18 July 1945. Captain John Francis Crowe, Jr., commanded the ship from that date until 10 May 1947.

Mississippi survived the war. She was decommissioned at Norfolk on 17 September 1956 and sold for scrap on 28 November 1956.
