Indiana
Steaming with Task Force 58.1 on 27 January 1944, en route to attack Taroa Island airfield, Maloelap Atoll, Marshall Islands. Taken by a USS Enterprise (CV-6) photographer. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. Public domain.

USS Indiana (BB-58) was a South Dakota-class battleship of the United States Navy. On 1 April 1945 she was with the fast carriers off Okinawa. She remained afloat.

Thomas Joseph Keliher Jr. was her captain from 17 March 1944 until he was relieved on 1 May 1945, so he still held command on that April day off Okinawa. Francis Paxton Old became captain on 1 May 1945 and stayed in command until 5 December 1945. Indiana was not sunk. She survived the war.
