USS Monssen (DD-798) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was launched on 30 October 1943 and entered service when she was commissioned on 14 February 1944.

Bernhardt Alois Feutsch was her first captain. He took command on the day she was commissioned and remained in that post until 21 July 1944.

Charles Kniese Bergin succeeded him the same day. Under Bergin, Monssen took part in the Battle of Surigao Strait on 25 October 1944, where she joined the destroyer torpedo attack.

Bergin’s tour ended on 8 December 1944. Everett George Sanderson assumed command that day and captained the ship from then on. Monssen came through the war. The hull was sold for scrap on 21 October 1963.
