Commander Lewis Freedman graduated from the Naval Academy with the Class of 1934. He commanded the carrier Wasp (CV-18) from 17 September 1946 to 17 February 1947, when she was being placed in reserve. She was decommissioned on 17 February 1947. NavSource has his official portrait.
