HMS Repulse, pennant number 34, was a Renown-class battlecruiser of the Royal Navy. Captain William George Tennant took command on 18 June 1940 and was still in command on the day she was lost.

On 10 December 1941, off Kuantan, shore-based Japanese naval aircraft sank her in the loss of Prince of Wales and Repulse. Repulse went down before Prince of Wales.

At 11:18 nine high-level bombers attacked. One bomb hit the port hangar. The hit did no serious damage.

At 12:25 nine torpedo bombers attacked from several directions. The first torpedo jammed the rudder, and three more hit. She capsized and sank at 12:35 at 3°45' N, 104°24' E. The report of the action counts five torpedoes and one bomb. The sinking is not credited to one plane.

Captain Tennant survived. He counted 27 officers and 486 men lost, and 42 officers and 754 men saved.
