I-124 was a minelaying submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Koichi Kishigami took command on 31 January 1941. He was still her captain on the day she was lost. On 20 January 1942, off Darwin, I-124 fired a torpedo at Deloraine. The torpedo missed.

Deloraine made the first attack. Depth charges then sank the submarine. Official credit for the sinking is held jointly by Edsall, Deloraine, Katoomba, and Lithgow.

Eighty men were lost with her. Her recorded end is that sinking off Darwin on 20 January 1942, in the action known as the sinking of I-124.
