I-58 was a submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Mochitsura Hashimoto was her captain from 7 September 1944.

On 30 July 1945, I-58 attacked the cruiser Indianapolis. The cruiser was unescorted and alone. No other ship was in that action.

I-58 fired the torpedoes and hit Indianapolis with two of them. The cruiser sank in about twelve minutes. I-58 survived the war. She surrendered and was still afloat. On 1 April 1946 she was scuttled off the Goto Islands.
