USS Ammen (DD-527) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was launched on 17 September 1942 and commissioned on 20 March 1943.

John Cheshire Daniel was her captain from 12 March 1943, so he was already in command when the ship was placed in commission. He stayed until 22 April 1943. Henry Williams took command on 22 April 1943 and remained captain until 11 May 1944.

James Harvey Brown succeeded him on 11 May 1944. Under Brown, Ammen served at Okinawa as a radar picket from 1 April 1945 through June. She came through that duty afloat.

George Van Rogers became captain on 14 June 1945, while the Okinawa picket period was still running through the end of June. Ammen survived the war. The hull was sold for scrap on 20 April 1961.
