USS Juneau (CL-52) was an Atlanta-class anti-aircraft cruiser of the United States Navy, a light cruiser of that specialized type.

Lyman K. Swenson was her captain from 14 February 1942. He was in command as she came to the action off Guadalcanal that ended her service.

On the night of 13 November 1942, Juneau was in the night action of the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Off Guadalcanal that night she was torpedoed, and the hit left the cruiser damaged.

She was still afloat when that night action was over. That afternoon the submarine I-26 sank her. I-26 had been absent from the night fight, so the torpedo damage suffered in the dark and the submarine attack that finished her were separate blows on the same day.

Juneau was lost on 13 November 1942 off Guadalcanal. In the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal she was torpedoed during the night action and sunk the same afternoon by I-26.
