Frank Benjamin Guest Jr. was a United States Navy officer who, as a commander, captained the destroyer Hunt (DD-674) from 3 May 1960 into 1962. He later rose to rear admiral.

Hunt was a Fletcher-class destroyer named for William Henry Hunt, Secretary of the Navy in the brief administration of President James A. Garfield. The Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company of Kearny, New Jersey, launched her on 1 August 1943. Mrs. Henry Kent Hewitt, wife of Vice Admiral H. Kent Hewitt and a granddaughter of the namesake, sponsored the ship. She was commissioned on 22 September 1943 with Frank Paull Mitchell, Jr. as her first commanding officer.

In the Second World War Hunt screened fast carriers from the Marshall Islands and the Marianas through the Philippines and the long weeks of radar-picket duty off Okinawa. Command in those years passed from Mitchell to William Kittridge Rogers, then to Halford A. Knoertzer, and then to Fred Earle McEntire Jr., who brought her back to the United States. She arrived at San Francisco in July 1945 for overhaul and left commission at San Diego on 15 December 1945.

The Navy returned Hunt to service at San Diego on 31 October 1951 under Lynn F. Barry. She soon joined the Atlantic Fleet at Newport, Rhode Island, and spent the following years on antisubmarine exercises and plane-guard duty with carriers. The commanding officers who followed Barry were Robert Hoitt Alexander, Eugene Harrison Farrell, Albert Louis Stickles II, Samuel Lloyd Collins, Robert Kent Rosemont, Stanley Leon Segal, and George Hand Sharp. Sharp turned the ship over to Guest on 3 May 1960.

Guest’s tour came in the last years Hunt spent in commission with the Atlantic Fleet. He left the command in 1962. The destroyer was decommissioned for the last time on 30 December 1963, struck from the Navy list on 1 December 1974, and sold for scrap on 14 August 1975.
