HMAS Shropshire, numbered 73, was a County-class heavy cruiser of the London subclass in the Royal Australian Navy. She passed to the RAN after the cruiser Canberra was lost, and she took Canberra’s place.

David H. Harries became her captain on 28 December 1942. John Augustine Collins took command on 7 April 1943.

Henry Arthur Showers was in command in September 1944. Charles Alfred Godfrey Nichols assumed command on 21 October 1944.

On 25 October 1944 Shropshire was in the Battle of Surigao Strait. She stood on the right flank of the cruiser line. She survived the war. At the end of August 1945 she was in Tokyo Bay with the Australian ships.
