PT-152 was an 80-foot Elco, built by the Electric Boat Company's Elco Works at Bayonne, New Jersey. Boats of this kind displaced about 56 tons, ran on three Packard gasoline engines at roughly 40 knots, and carried a crew of about 14 to 17. She was placed in service on 6 November 1942 in Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 9 and transferred to Squadron 12 on 10 May 1943.

On the night of 24-25 October 1944 she was one of 39 boats under Commander Selman S. Bowling, posted in sections down Surigao Strait to report Vice Admiral Shoji Nishimura's force and Vice Admiral Kiyohide Shima's, and to attack if they could. She was in Lieutenant Weston C. Pullen's section, with PT-130 and PT-131, about 18 miles off Bohol. Her skipper was Lieutenant (junior grade) Joseph A. Eddins.

Shigure's searchlight caught her. A 4.7-inch shell tore the 37 mm gun off the bow, set the forecastle on fire, and fatally wounded the gunner. The loader was stunned. Eddins dropped two depth charges set at 100 feet, shot back with the 40 mm, and was chased for 23 minutes. The bow was stove in and the radios were out, but she could still make 24 knots and got clear. A photograph of her smashed foredeck, taken after the battle, follows this account. The number is not in that view. She was not sunk.

She was stripped and destroyed on 26 October 1945.
