| Fate | Sunk. on 26 October 1942 at the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. A torpedo hit her at 1101 while she was picking up the crew of a ditched American torpedo plane. ONI and DANFS say a submarine fired it, and Wikipedia says it may have come from the ditched plane. The question is not settled. Shaw took off her crew and sank her by gunfire at 1308. Struck from the Navy List on 2 November 1942. This is not the Fletcher-class Porter, DD-800. |
| Armament (class) | Four twin 5-inch mounts and two funnels. Destroyer leaders. |
Laid down, displacement, length, beam, draft, speed, and complement are not stored for each hull, so this table leaves them out.
The armament line is the class drawing, not a measurement of this hull.
