Photos and infoFletcher-class destroyer. On 13 November 1942 she was fourth in Callaghan's column, behind Sterett. She fired on Hiei and came through after Laffey exploded close aboard. No one on board was killed. In the van with Nicholas at Kula Gulf, ahead of Helena and the other cruisers. The rescue of Helena's men that night was Nicholas and Radford. Off Horaniu with Ryan. At Vella Lavella she locked together with Chevalier after that ship was torpedoed. Halsey had her, with Nicholas and Taylor, bring Missouri into Tokyo Bay. She sailed for home on 1 September 1945, the day before the surrender was signed.
