Photos and infoCleveland-class light cruiser. New York Shipbuilding, Camden. Launched 17 December 1941, commissioned 29 July 1942, Captain W. A. Heard. In the cruiser line at Empress Augusta Bay that sank Sendai. That fire is not credited to one ship. Not sunk. Kamikazes damaged her at Lingayen Gulf and she stayed in action. Sold on 18 February 1959.
